Pinto Bean Cook-Off 

Bring your pound of cooked pinto beans and enter the Heritage Festival Pinto Bean Cook-Off!

WHAT:   Fifteenth Annual Pinto Bean Cookoff

WHEN:   Saturday, November 8th, 8-10 a.m.

WHERE:   Heritage Park - Bean Tent on Elm

WHY:   Who cooks the best beans in Van Zandt Co. 

HOW:    Bring entries (preferably in a crock pot)
Between 8 and 10 a.m. 
Judging begins at 10 a.m.

PRIZES:    First - $25
Second - $15
Third - $10

Entries will be judged on taste, appearance, & texture
Awards presented at 12 noon at the bandstand.  Winners are not required to be present. 
Beans should be in a crock pot of similar container suitable for reheating.  No names should appear on containers.  Each entry will be given a number and can be reclaimed later by this number. 
After judging, beans will be sold by the society to the
general public.  Containers not picked up by 3 p.m. will be washed and held for pickup at a later date.
